On the framework of the World Heart Day, CHRISTUS MUGUERZA Hospital Alta Especialidad donated two surgical procedures to improve the quality of life of a 4-year old girl named Tita, and Martha, of 8 years old, who suffer congenital heart diseases.
The heart surgeries are the result of an alliance with Vitalmex Group, DIF Nuevo Leon and Cardio Chavitos.
Guillermo Quezada Valenzuela, M.D., pediatric cardiovascular surgeon, Cecilia Robles Britton, M.D., interventional pediatric cardiologist, Jesus Manuel Yanez Sanchez, M.D., pediatric cardiologist, Veronica Contreras, M.D., perfusionist, and Rossemberg Albores, M.D., pediatric anesthesiologist, participated in both surgical procedures.
This was the second time Tita underwent surgery. She had undergone catheterization during the First for free Congenital Heart Disease Surgeries Campaign, “Pumping Miracles”, which was held in Hospital Alta Especialidad. Through this surgical procedure, it was determined that the little girl had Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect that causes a reduction in blood oxygen levels.
One more time, becoming aware that we have the tools to make a difference in the lives of patients like Tita and Martha impels us to remain vigilant to continue to transform as many lives as possible.
